Vale Michael Milgate

Article 19 January 2021

It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of our dear colleague, Michael Milgate, just before Christmas 2020.

Commencing his employment with CDQ back in January 1986, Michael played a tremendous role in the history of our firm.  For more than thirty years, he served the St George and Sutherland communities he loved, providing sound advice and expertise to both clients and colleagues alike.

Michael was incredibly well liked by all who knew him, and many of his clients went on to become friends.  His natural way of connecting with people from all walks of life was such that he was woven into the fabric of so many families and known by multiple generations.  His gentle mannerisms, generous nature and wealth of legal  knowledge helped to ease the pain and anxiety for so many of our clients as he guided and assisted them through some really tough times, as well as sharing many of the happy times.  As a result of his warm, friendly nature and commitment to helping others, he often found himself included on the guest list for client family weddings, christenings and many other celebrations ... much to his delight.

A true gentleman, Michael is survived by his wife, Kathy, his three children and his granddaughter.

Michael will be sadly missed by all of us
